The new Audi A1 has not yet hit the roads, but motorists are already queuing up to place their order. Some are so keen that they are willing to pay up to 24 thousand pounds - which is a considerable fee when you consider that the list price begins at 12 thousand.

Form a design standpoint, Audi's executive saloon is a discrete evolution over the previous model. However, it does come with an array of new gizmos, such as adaptive air suspension and dynamic steering. At launch, the A6 will be available in the States with a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 engine, but Audi is considering the introduction of a six-cylinder diesel version as well.

The all-wheel drive technology used on the A1 prototype is very similar to that found in A3 and TT models. At the heart of the system is an electronically controlled, hydraulically actuated multi-plate clutch located in front of the rear axle. Under normal driving conditions, the clutch sends most of the engine’s power to the front wheels. If the front axle starts losing traction, the clutch can instantly transfer torque to the rear axle by forcing the plate packages together.

This special feature was available because of two additional radiators and a new Engine Control Unit. It had a starting pick-up speed of reaching 100 km/hr in just 4.6 seconds and 200 km/hr in 17.36 seconds with a top speed of 280 km/hr. during 2002-2004, RS6 was used in various car racings including the famous North American Speed World Challenge GT series of auto racing.

• The top of the range Audi A8 SE 4.2 FSI Quattro has a (limited) top speed of 155 mph and accelerates from 0-62 mph in 6.1 seconds, whilst the A8 SE 4.2 TDI Quattro - a diesel - has the same top speed but gets from 0-62 mph in just 5.9 seconds!
• Adaptive air suspension is available as an option in the A8. It is the first Audi sports suspension system to be based on the principle of air suspension which allows the driver to change the suspension as individually preferred. Both the damping characteristics and ride height can be adjusted in a single process via the MMI "CAR" menu system.

A special control unit (the Bosch Motronic ME Engine Control unit) was used that could control various functions of engine operation. During the year 2004, a much better and facilitated car with the label Audi RS 6 Plus was introduced that had an increased power transmission up to 473 bhp at a speed of 6,400 rpm.

The current generation of A8s is available in a range of powerful diesel and petrol engine options including 2.8 V6, 3.2 V6, 4.2 V8, 3.0 TDI V6 and 4.2 litre TDI V8 with standard or long-wheelbase versions. The diesel versions all include semi-automatic Tiptronic gearboxes whilst Multitronic semi-automatic options are available for petrol engines. The 4.2 litre diesel V8 is the most powerful diesel engine Audi has ever produced in a car. It uses two turbochargers and two intercoolers, with each turbo functioning exclusively for one bank of four cylinders.
2012 Audi RS 3 is Coming

German tuning company MTM doesn’t necessarily do things the conventional way. Remember the Bimoto, the twin-engined Audi TT that could hit 244 mph? Yeah, different. That’s why we weren’t surprised to see this modified Audi R8 come across our desks. MTM has done some conventional tuning with the car – like supercharging the 4.2-liter V8 – but it’s also performed a procedure we’ve yet to see. The front-wheel drive portion of the Quattro system has been removed, making the car a pure rear-driver. According to MTM, this change provides a "complete new driving experience behind the Audi steering wheel and pure driving pleasure."

To share this experience with their customers, MTM is now offering a GT3-2 conversion for any V8-powered Audi R8. The package includes the aforementioned supercharger system, which is good for 560 horsepower and 428 pound-feet of torque, carbon fiber aero parts, larger front and rear brakes, adjustable Bilstein suspension, MTM’s unique Bimoto forged wheels and more

The Audi RS5 is factory tuned hardcore sports car from the German automaker with a more aggressive front end, wider wheel arches and brushed aluminum mirror covers while the interior will be filled with plenty of carbon fiber. Under the hood, the Audi RS5 will be powered by a 4.2 Liter FSI V8 engine and will be coupled with a 7 speed S-tronic gearbox. The power plant will be upgraded to produce 450 HP and will be more than enough to send the RS5 sprinting from 0 to 60 MPH in around 4.5 seconds.

Yet despite all of this performance, the Audi is also very thrifty in the fuel economy department. The Environmental Protection Agency has rated the Q5 at eighteen miles per gallon in city driving, and twenty-three miles per gallon in highway driving. And lest we forget that this is a crossover vehicle, the Audi Q5 has the ability to tow four thousand four hundred pounds when properly fitted. The Audit Q5 is a well-rounded vehicle that has a variety of abilities for the the active driver.

The engine utilizes a dual overhead cam valve train that requires premium unleaded gasoline. All of this power is shifted through a 6 speed automatic transmission with the "tiptronic" feature that is fed to all four wheels through Audi's "quattro" all wheel drive system. The Audi Q5 powerplant is able to push the crossover through the quarter mile in fifteen and one half seconds at a maximum speed of ninety-three miles per hour. The engine also returns a zero to sixty acceleration time of seven and one-tenth seconds.

The e-tron Spyder rides on a 95.7-inch wheelbase, which is 8.7 inches shorter than that of the R8. At 159.8 inches long, 71.3 inches wide, and 43.7 inches tall, it's slightly larger than the hardtop e-tron shown in January at the 2010 Detroit Auto Show but still considerably smaller than an Audi TT.
Design-wise, the e-tron Spyder is similar to the Detroit car, but with a more aggressive look thanks to its crisper lines and new fascias. The front fascia has larger, bolder-looking grille elements, while the rear end is completely different.

The RS Designation Audi entitles with it always is currently rated the best performance designation a car has today. It stands for the phrase in German language meaning Motor Sport in English, often known with the name Racing Sport Cars.

The German manufacturer is currently preparing the new monster and ready face to face competition with Bmw M3, Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG and the Lexus IS-F. The new model which will be launched in spring 2010 will carry a V8 engine capable to deliver an impressive 450 hp (+30 hp compared to the old version). Also, the new vehicle will get larger air intakes, inspired by the Audi TT-RS and by the upcoming RS5 but also a more aggressive aerodynamic kit.
